If recliners keep stopping too soon behind your neck, and your calves hang off the end of the footrest, this is the range designed around you.
Irene House Tall lift recliners are built around longer body proportions — back height, seat depth, and leg support.
Tall models are designed primarily for longer body proportions — back height, seat depth, and leg support. Big & Tall models add more seat width and higher weight capacity for people who need both height and extra room.
If your main challenge is height and leg length, start here. If you also need a wider seat or up to 500 lb support, see our Big & Tall range.
A back that ends below your shoulders leaves your head and neck unsupported. A taller body needs a backrest that reaches the neck.
Long legs need seat depth, so your thighs are supported all the way to the knee — not cut off halfway.
The seat should let your feet rest naturally — without your knees riding too high or your feet dangling.
Reclined, your feet should land on the footrest, not past it. An extended footrest carries long legs to the heel.
The total reclined length has to be long enough that your whole body is supported, head to heel.
Start with your standing height to narrow the range.
Two people who are both 6'3" can have very different torso and leg proportions. Your seated back height tells you whether a model's backrest reaches where you need it.
Don't choose by height alone — make sure the seat width and weight rating fit your body too.
9188T, 9188ET or 9205L — pick the one whose proportions match yours.
Measure your seated back height and your leg length — two people the same standing height can need different chairs.
9188T is the height specialist. If you also need a wider seat, the 9188ET and 9205L add room without leaving tall support behind.
Height-first support — pick by your proportions.
If you also need extra width or heavy-duty 500 lb support, our Big & Tall / Heavy-Duty range adds room and capacity for people who need both height and extra room. See Big & Tall lift chairs →

Yes — the 9188T is built for taller bodies up to about 6'5", and the 9188ET reaches 6'7". Check the recommended height on each model and your seated back height.
The extended footrest is designed to carry long legs all the way to the heel when reclined, rather than leaving your calves hanging off the end.
The 9188T uses a three-layer backrest with the top layer shaped to support the neck — exactly where most recliners stop too soon for a taller person.
